J. ALEX BRUGGENSCHMIDT BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
J. Alex Bruggenschmidt graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, in 2006 with a B.A., summa cum laude in Anthropology. As an undergraduate, Alex spent two summers conducting ethnographic field research in Dharamsala, India, home of H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet and center of the exiled Tibetan Government. His previous scholarship and research interests in anthropology include democratization and autonomy in exiled Tibetan communities and the Tibetan judicial system.
While in law school at Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis, Alex served as an Associate Editor of the Indiana Law Review, placed second in the 2008 IADC Legal Writing Contest and wrote an appellate brief that secured summary affirmance in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.
Alex is the author of numerous academic articles. His work has been cited in legal treatises and appears on several undergraduate and law school syllabi. Alex’s primary practice areas are corporate law, commercial litigation and real estate.
